WebRTC File Transfer

Built for people who specifically want WebRTC — not another S3 uploader. This landing opens the same Transfer Studio with PeerJS abstraction over RTCPeerConnection.

How to use WebRTC File Transfer

  1. 1. Pair peers. Host registers a prefixed PeerJS id; client connects with the 6-digit room.
  2. 2. Open the DataChannel. Reliable binary serialization carries META / CHUNK / DONE messages.
  3. 3. Stream 64 KB slices. Sender slices with Blob.slice; receiver concatenates ArrayBuffers into a downloadable Blob.

About this tool

WebRTC file transfer queries come from developers and power users who already know DataChannels beat HTTP upload for live pairwise sharing.

Protocol sketch

META announces name/size/mime/fileId. CHUNK carries ArrayBuffer pieces. DONE finalizes the Blob and auto-download. The channel is not torn down afterward.

Signaling vs media path

PeerJS cloud signaling exchanges SDP/ICE. After connect, file bytes should flow P2P (TURN only when direct paths fail).
