How to use QR Code Generator
- 1. Choose what the QR code should open. Pick a type: URL / website link, Wi-Fi, vCard contact card, UPI payment, email, SMS, phone number, location (Google Maps), calendar event, PDF link, crypto address, or plain text. Each type has its own simple form, so you never need to write the raw code by hand.
- 2. Make it look like yours. Add your logo or icon in the middle, change the dot and corner shapes, pick solid colors or a gradient, or use a transparent background. Error correction goes up automatically when you add a logo, so a QR code with logo still scans.
- 3. Check that it scans. The generator scans its own QR code with a real QR code reader as you edit and shows a green verified badge. If the contrast is too low or the logo is too big, a warning appears with a one-click Auto-fix.
- 4. Download for free. Download the QR code as PNG (up to 4096 px), SVG (vector for print and Canva), PDF at 300 DPI, or an A4 sticker sheet. No sign up, no watermark, no expiry. Switch to Bulk / CSV mode to generate up to 500 QR codes at once as a ZIP.
About this tool
This is a free QR code generator that works online, in your browser, with no sign up and no expiration. Type a link, Wi-Fi password, contact details, UPI ID, or any text, and a QR code appears instantly. You can add a logo, change colors and shapes, test-scan it, and download it as PNG, SVG, or PDF with no watermark. Unlike many 'free' QR code generators, the codes made here are static: the content is stored inside the QR code itself, not on our server. That means your QR code is free for lifetime, cannot expire, has no scan limit, and keeps working even if this website disappears. There is no account, no trial, and nothing is uploaded — the whole QR code generator runs on your device.
What is a QR code and how does it work?
A QR code (Quick Response code) is a square pattern of black and white dots that a phone camera can read in a second. The dots store text — most often a website URL — plus some extra 'error correction' dots that let the code survive dirt, a logo in the middle, or a small print. When you point a phone at a QR code, the camera decodes the pattern, reads the text, and offers to open the link, join the Wi-Fi network, save the contact, or pay the UPI ID. This free QR code generator turns your text into that pattern using the standard ISO/IEC 18004 QR code format, so it can be scanned by every QR code scanner app, Google Lens, and the built-in camera on Android and iPhone.
Free QR code generator with no expiration — why 'free' QR codes stop working
Many popular QR code generator websites give you a code for free and then it stops working after 7 or 14 days, or shows a 'QR code expired' page unless you pay. That happens because they generate a dynamic QR code: the code only contains a short link to their server, and the server decides where to send people. When the free trial ends, they switch it off — even if you already printed it on 5,000 flyers. This QR code generator only makes static QR codes. The link or text is written directly into the code, there is no redirect through anyone's server, and there is no way to switch it off. It is a QR code generator free for lifetime, permanent, and with no expiration, because there is simply nothing that can expire.
QR code generator with logo, colors, and custom shapes
A plain black-and-white QR code works, but a QR code with your logo gets scanned more because people trust a code that looks owned. Upload your logo or icon (PNG, JPG, or SVG), and the QR code generator places it in the center and automatically raises error correction to keep the code scannable. You can also pick from rounded, dot, classy, or square module shapes, change the three corner 'eyes', set any brand color or gradient, and use a transparent background so the code sits on a poster or dark design. Every change is test-scanned live, so you find out that a design breaks scanning before you print, not after. All of this is free — there is no premium tier for the logo, no watermark on the download, and no limit on how many custom QR codes you make.
Types of QR codes you can generate
URL / website QR code: the classic link QR code for posters, packaging, menus, and business cards. Wi-Fi QR code: guests scan it and join the network without typing the password. vCard QR code: saves your name, phone, email, and company straight into the contacts app — a digital business card. UPI QR code: a payment QR for Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, and every UPI app, with an optional fixed amount. Location QR code: opens the exact spot in Google Maps — great for event invites, shop addresses, and delivery points. PDF QR code: link to a hosted PDF menu, brochure, or manual. Email, SMS, and phone QR codes: open a pre-filled message or dial a number. Calendar event QR code: adds an event with date and place. Crypto QR code: a Bitcoin or Ethereum address. Text QR code: any plain text, like a serial number, a coupon code, or a short note, that shows on screen without needing internet.
QR code generator for Android, iPhone, and desktop — no app needed
You do not need to install a QR code generator app. This page works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on Android phones, iPhones, iPads, Windows, and Mac. On a phone, the generator uses your whole screen and you can save the PNG straight to your gallery or share it into WhatsApp. Scanning does not need an app either: the camera app on every Android phone (since Android 9) and iPhone (since iOS 11) reads QR codes natively, and Google Lens works as a QR code scanner online for images you already have. If you want to make a QR code for an app, encode your Play Store or App Store link — or a landing page that detects the phone and sends Android users to Google Play and iPhone users to the App Store.
QR code scanner and reader built in
Need to check what a QR code contains before you scan it with your phone? Click Scan image in the top bar and drop any picture of a QR code — a screenshot, a photo of a poster, a QR code from an email. The built-in QR code reader decodes it right here in your browser and shows you the exact link or text inside. This is the safest way to inspect a suspicious QR code, and it also works as a quick QR code scanner online when your phone camera is not handy. Nothing you scan is uploaded.
Download QR code as PNG, SVG, PDF, or a print-ready sheet
PNG is right for websites, WhatsApp, presentations, and social media — export up to 4096 × 4096 pixels. SVG is a vector file, so it stays razor sharp at any size; use it for business cards, banners, Canva, Figma, Illustrator, and print shops. PDF exports at 300 DPI with the correct quiet zone for direct printing. The A4 sticker sheet tiles your code so you can print a page of stickers for tables, counters, or product boxes. Every download is free and has no watermark — and the QR code icon you download is yours to use commercially.
Bulk QR code generator — hundreds of codes from a CSV
Need a QR code for every table, ticket, product, asset tag, or store branch? Switch to Bulk / CSV mode, paste one link per line or name, content rows, and download a ZIP with up to 500 QR codes that all share your design. Filenames come from the first column, so table-12.png is the code for table 12. Everything is generated locally, so there is no per-code price and no monthly plan — the bulk QR code generator is as free as the single one.
Free QR code API for developers
If you need a QR code generator free API rather than a web page, you do not need one that phones home. Any static QR code can be generated with an open-source library: qrcode in JavaScript or Python, ZXing in Java and Android, or a QR SVG in the browser with no server at all. The payloads this generator builds (WIFI:, BEGIN:VCARD, upi://pay, geo:, mailto:, tel:) are plain standards, so you can copy the payload shown under the preview and feed it to any library. See the code examples below for the exact strings.
Alternative to QR Code Monkey, Canva, and Google QR code generators
People often search for 'QR code monkey', 'QR code generator Canva', or 'QR code generator Google'. Google Chrome can make a basic QR code for the current page from the share menu, but with no logo or styling. Canva adds a QR code element inside a design, but it cannot verify that it scans and does not export SVG on the free plan. QR Code Monkey is a good free generator, but it runs server-side and its dynamic codes need an account. This generator gives you the logo and styling of those tools, plus live scan verification, SVG and PDF export, bulk CSV, Wi-Fi, vCard, and UPI forms — with no account and with your data never leaving your browser.
Tips to make sure your QR code always scans
Keep good contrast: dark dots on a light background is the safe direction; very light colors or light dots on dark fail in some scanners. Keep a quiet zone: leave a white margin of at least 4 dots around the code. Do not print too small: 2 × 2 cm is the minimum for a menu or business card, and for a poster use the 10:1 rule — a code read from 2 metres should be about 20 cm wide. Keep the logo under a quarter of the code width. Use a short URL: shorter content means bigger, easier-to-read dots. And always test-scan the final print with a phone before you order thousands. This generator's live verifier and Auto-fix button catch most of these problems automatically.
Privacy: your data never leaves your browser
Wi-Fi passwords, phone numbers, UPI IDs, and private links are exactly the kind of data you should not paste into a random QR code website. Every part of this QR code generator — building the payload, drawing the code, adding the logo, scanning it for verification, and packaging bulk ZIPs — runs as JavaScript in your browser tab. There is no upload, no account, no cookie tracking of what you encode, and no scan analytics, because there is no server in the loop. Close the tab and it is gone; your saved session lives only in your own browser's local storage.
